Join the Texas UU Justice Ministry as we welcome New York Times bestselling author, columnist, and political commentator Steve Phillips, in conversation with TXUUJM Executive Director Rev. Erin Walter, about his book, How We Win the Civil War: Securing a Multiracial Democracy and Ending White Supremacy for Good. This is a FREE event, open to all. Steve Phillips gave a powerful talk to UUSJ (our Washington D.C. partner) earlier this year, and TXUUJM is excited to welcome him to a special follow-up conversation. Steve is a national political leader, civil rights lawyer, and a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress; this author talk provides a unique opportunity to equip us for the work ahead.
Pablo DeJesus, Executive Director of Unitarian Universalists for Social Justice (UUSJ), will join us to light the chalice.
Buy Steve's book here at Bookshop.org, and stay in touch with Steve on X @StevePtweets and Instagram @democracyincolor. (Book not required to attend.)
