Demand Accountability for the GOP Enablers of the January 6 Insurrection

On January 6, Donald Trump directly incited a violent insurrection. JDCA applauded the House of Representatives historic second impeachment of Trump and, now that the article of impeachment has been delivered to the Senate, is urging the Senate to convict and prevent him from running for office again. Let us be clear: Trump incited these attacks, but he had countless GOP enablers who must also be held responsible.

The Republican Party stood by and enabled Trump's disinformation campaign about the election that motivated the domestic terrorists and white supremacists who attacked our nation's Capitol on January 6. Even after the attack on the Capitol, 147 Republicans voted to overturn the results of a free and fair election by voting against certifying the election results.

Not only did GOP members of Congress incite the violence, reports suggest that some actively abetted the attack. Jewish Dems understand we cannot heal the country without justice. Urge your members of Congress to hold GOP enablers of the January 6 insurrection accountable, including through, but not limited to:

After-action reviews and thorough investigations into the attacks;
Investigations of reports of Republican-led Capitol tours for insurrectionists before Jan 6; and
Assignment of responsibility and clear consequences, including censure, ethics investigations, or removal from office of elected officials found responsible.

Write to your Members of Congress today and demand their support for efforts to investigate the attacks and hold the enablers, perpetrators, and abettors, including elected officials, responsible for the January 6 insurrection.

I demand that you pursue full justice for this attack by supporting the following: After-action reviews and thorough investigations into the attacks; investigations of reports of Capitol tours before Jan 6; and assignment of responsibility for the attacks and clear consequences, including censure, ethics investigations, or removal of office for elected officials found responsible. All abettors and perpetrators of the insurrection must be held accountable, including any members of Congress who are found responsible.
