Urge President Biden to Protect America’s Trees this Christmas!

As we celebrate Christmas, gathered around our gift laden trees, we often think of other gifts God has given us. One of those gifts from God is  forests that work together to keep us safe and healthy generation after generation. Mature and old-growth forests take harmful pollutants from the air that can cause higher rates of asthma, heart disease, lung disease, and even cancer. These forests are powerful natural air purifiers that filter our air, release oxygen, and help people breathe easier. As we bring trees into our homes this month, let us also advocate for the trees in forests that are a constant reminder of God's goodness.

Message for President Biden:

Dear President Biden,

As I celebrate Christmas this year, I am thinking of the many forests that have given the gift of trees to us to use in our celebrations. Forests give gifts to us year-round: cleaner air and water, carbon sequestration, and cooler communities.  Thank you for Executive Order 14072 on Strengthening the Nation's Forests, Communities, and Local Economies. Following the executive order of last year, we need clear action protecting our mature and old-growth forests. The conservation of mature and old-growth forests is one of the most affordable and effective tools for fighting climate change.

As you continue to fight for God's planet and people, I urge you to have the U.S. Forest Service enact a rulemaking to implement Executive Order 14072, protecting mature and old-growth forests from timber sales. Thank you for continuing to act on climate change for God's planet and people.

Sincerely,
