Urge Your State Lawmaker to Respect the Will of the Voters, Respect the Courts, and Uphold our Constitution
We all saw the attacks on the U.S. Capitol and our democracy, which were incited by a president who refuses to accept the results of an election that rejected him. But many people don't know about other dangerous schemes to undermine our democracy happening here in Pennsylvania, right now.
At the start of the session, Republicans who control the Pennsylvania Senate refused to swear in Jim Brewster — a Democratic Senator who won a close election — in a failed attempt to deny the will of the voters, despite three court rulings that upheld the results.
Now, the legislature is halfway through a process to amend Pennsylvania's constitution to allow them to gerrymander our state courts, just like they've gerrymandered their own legislative districts. Water and air pollution does not care about arbitrary political boundaries, and neither should the courts that rule on our environmental laws and hold polluters accountable.
State legislative leaders aren't going to let up unless we rise up to stop them. Send a message urging your lawmaker to stop these assaults on our democracy by opposing any plan to politically gerrymander our state courts.
