The Artists in Residence Fellowship

Jolt's Artists in Residence fellowship supports, and highlights the next generation of Latino artists. Submit your portfolio for an opportunity to join our collective of artists who pledge to create art that will give shape to a vibrant Latino movement in Texas.

We are currently looking for artists to join us for the following opportunities (each of these positions will be offered a $2,500 stipend):

Voter Registration

Now more than ever, it's vital to get young Texas Latinos registered to vote. The artists who join this program will create visual elements for our statewide digital campaign.

  • 1 graphic designer: You will create colorful digital ads for Facebook/Instagram and some print materials that will serve as incentives.

  • 1 video producer: You will create a series of 10 and 30-second social media ads that convey the power of the youth vote and why voting in 2020 is so important. You will develop video concepts that keep safety and social distancing in mind.

We would like to bring on these artists by June 5.

Get Out the Vote

It's not enough to register voters. We've got to get young Latinos to the polls! This population contributed to record turnout during the 2018 midterm elections, and they can do it again in 2020.

Climate Justice

Texas Latinos are feeling a disproportionate impact due to climate change, and we also have the power to lead on solutions. As part of our climate justice campaign, you will be part of our efforts to mobilize young Latino activists and voters around this critical issue and enact change at the local and state level.

  • 1 graphic designer: You will create youthful, colorful illustrations that will be the face of our campaign. These will center on educating our audience about climate change and energizing them to get involved.

  • 1 video producer: You will create a series of videos to educate young Latinos on how climate change impacts their communities and how they can take action. You will develop video concepts that keep safety and social distancing in mind.

We would like to bring on a graphic designer by June 5. We would like to bring on a video producer by July 31.
