After years of pushing by community members and mental health advocates across the city, Chicago is closer than ever to making Treatment Not Trauma a reality for our resident. The Treatment Not Trauma working group established by City Council has released a road map to restructure how the city addresses mental health crises and ongoinig preventative care, and support.

The power of our movement got us to this point, but we can't let up here. Community pressure got these City departments to come together to put together this roadmap, now we need to keep up the community pressure to make sure this plan is implemented fully, effectively, and quickly. For that to happen, we need the Chicago City Council to fund the needed infrastrcture, programs, and staff.
