During the COVID-19 pandemic, Gulf communities have enough to worry about without worrying about what potentially harmful environmental regulations and permits might sneak through with proper public scrutiny. Unfortunately, dozens of new water pollution and wetland destruction permits have been announced in the days after Gulf governors announced states of emergency.
Please send a message to the Governors of the 5 US Gulf states to hold open all active comment periods at least 60 days beyond the lifting of any national and state emergencies and halt new non-essential, proposed, or revised rules or regulations, and environmental permits until emergency declarations responding to the COVID-19 pandemic have been lifted.
