2024 Partnership Commitment Form

MICAH's strength is in a strong, diverse, and active coalition of partner organizations and congregations. We are excited that you are considering recommitting your partnership for 2024. Below is a reminder about the benefits and expectations of the partnership that were outlined in the partnership agreement form that initiated this partnership. After reviewing these, please fill out this form to let us know what your partnership type (full or supportive) is, who will serve as your delegates, and how much your partner organization will invest in dues.

Feel free to reach out to us with any questions at partnership@micahmemphis.org.

Partners Can Expect The Following Benefits:

 Professional Organizers
Your congregation/organization will have access to experienced professional organizers, who will work with your community/organization to: build a Core Team; organize congregational/organizational listening campaigns; and assist in designing strategies that respond to the needs and interests identified in the listening campaigns.

Leadership Training
Your congregation/organization will have access to the Gamaliel Foundation and MICAH's national and local leadership training, campaigns to work on, and experts on public policy which are available to train leaders.

Relationships and Solutions
Your congregation/organization will have the opportunity to:
1. Be in partnership and work with other congregations, organizations, community faith entities, businesses, and political leaders throughout the Memphis area, and with sister organizations across Tennessee and within Gamaliel.
2. Develop and implement responses to the forces within our community that sustain poverty and limit opportunity.
3. Develop a ministry/program that will engage current and new members of your congregation/organization.

Partner Responsibilities are:

Board of Directors Representation
Active partners should have representation on the Board of Directors (the Board) of MICAH. Supportive partners are exempt from this responsibility. The partner congregation/organization will appoint two delegates (representatives) and an alternate to the Board of MICAH. This Board will be the legal entity controlling the organization. It will meet regularly and will approve and manage a budget, hire the
Lead Organizer, and create and carry out an annual strategic plan to grow the organization and its capacity. All delegates to the Board will be invited and strongly encouraged to attend the seven-day national training provided by the Gamaliel Foundation within one year of being seated on the Board.

Core Team
Our congregation/organization commits to building a Core Team of leaders that meets monthly and carries out the following responsibilities:

1. Initiates annual listening campaigns within our congregation/organization;
2. Leads our congregation/organization in efforts to address issues affecting the community and, if applicable, to support ministry-building activities in our congregation;
3. Leads our congregation/organization, via MICAH, into relationship with other congregations/organizations to address issues affecting people throughout the region;
4. Invests in the development of leaders by identifying, recruiting and creating the opportunity to send our partners to local and national training events; and,
5. Provides partners with experiential opportunities to grow as public leaders.

Partnership Dues
Our congregation/organization agrees to pay annual partnership dues to support MICAH. All partner organizations should plan to pay 1⁄2 of 1% (0.5%) of their annual operating budget, not to fall below $200 and not to exceed $4,000.1 If this amount will cause financial hardship, please reach out to partnership@micahmemphis.org. Partners joining after January will pay a prorated amount of their annual dues either in full or monthly upon becoming a partner of MICAH.
