As a constituent in your district, I urge you to support the Welcoming Florida Act and policies that protect the rights and dignity of Floridians. I also count on your leadership to oppose recent legislation making life harder for Floridians who are immigrants, taking away their access to identification, even to navigate daily life like picking up kids from school, diverting millions in state funds to transport people throughout the country, increasing regulations on hospitals and small businesses to target immigrants and loosening regulations in order to capitalize on the labor of vulnerable children.

The real Florida Way is about being welcoming, neighborly, and supportive of all who call Florida home including our family members, neighbors, employers, employees, students, teachers, and faith leaders who are immigrants. With over 20% of Florida’s population born in other countries; they are deeply integrated into daily life. Immigrants, especially people who are still navigating our very complex immigration system, already face countless barriers, and the state of Florida should not make it harder for them.

Essential workers who are adults, including the one in four workers who are immigrants, make sure that we all have sturdy and safe infrastructure, from homes, to healthcare, to schools, bridges and buildings! We support policies that improve the quality of life for people living in our state, protecting and uplifting all Floridians, including those who were born outside of the United States.
