312,000 people in Kentucky couldn't vote last November because of our extreme laws that kept most people with felonies in their past from voting. That's about 1 in 10 voting age Kentuckians. Kentucky also has the nation's highest rate of Black voter disenfranchisement. One in 4 Black Kentuckians could not vote due to the impact of over policing in communities of color and our regressive voter disenfranchisement laws.
At the very least, people should be able to vote again after they've served their time.
Governor Beshear signed an executive order restoring the right to vote to many, but that order is temporary until we pass a constitutional amendment giving everyone their right to vote back after they've served their time.
With all of our voices together, we can restore voting rights to people with felonies in their past. Signing this petition will help.
