Woodstock Farm Sanctuary is extremely frustrated to see the news that President-elect Biden is likely to nominate Tom Vilsack as Secretary of Agriculture which is the position that oversees the USDA. Vilsack held the position previously and is currently the Chief Executive of the U.S. Dairy Export Council. The USDA is in need of radical reform NOW to start to dismantle industrial animal agriculture and work on issues of fighting the climate crisis and food justice and this nomination will ensure that none of that will happen.

We are urging President-elect Biden to reconsider this nomination. It's a terrible decision for all of the billions of animals trapped and exploited on farms for the next four years and forward and a terrible decision for the rest of us as well. As of Wednesday, December 9th 2020 we have shared the following letter with Biden and the Transition Team. This petition will be sent to them directly.
