Please join GHCC for our first bumblebee survey of the season on June 6 - 7

Calling all pollinator lovers! Join us for our annual June bumblebee survey for the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation and the NW Bumblebee Atlas Project.

We will be conducting a two-day bumblebee survey at Buckhorn Overlook. We will use protocols developed by the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation and the Pacific NW Bumblebee Atlas. After a busy day of surveying, we'll return to camp for the night and enjoy a potluck dinner together.

Outing Schedule

Friday, June 6th

Meet at central location in Enterprise at 9 am (exact location TBD)
Caravan to survey site at Buckhorn Overlook
Orientation - Learn how to safely snag bumblebees for data collection
Survey - We'll split into groups and conduct the first of two bumblebee surveys
Set up camp and full moon potluck!

Saturday, June 7th

BYO breakfast
Pack up camp and caravan to our second survey site (along the road back to Enterprise)
Survey - We'll split into groups and conduct the final bumblebee survey for this outing
We'll plan to be back in Enterprise in the afternoon
