Ask the Metropolitan Transportation Commission to complete the Bay Bridge Bicycle Pedestrian Path

The Bay Skyway is a 2 mile separated path that will connect walkers and rollers with the Eastern span of the Bay Bridge path, going from Yerba Buena Island to Essex Street in San Francisco. This alternative will also provide an option for Bay Area residents to cross the Bay without adding to roadway or transit congestion.

Estimates when the path is complete:

  • 10% of automobile trips can be served by bikes
  • 26% of AC transit trips can be served by bikes
  • 3% of all Transbay corridor Trips can be served by bikes

As of 2018 the total estimated cost was $341 million.

If funding is secured, Phase 2 could open as early as 2033.

There's a clear path to closing the gap. Sign the petition now to ensure this project stays top of mind and we can have a grand opening in 2033.
