HF 435 Trans Inmate Housing Restrictions

I am writing you to urge you and your colleagues to vote NO on HF 435. This bill would prevent the state from housing transgender inmates in women's facilities.

As a state we must respect and uphold the rights of all incarcerated individuals.

This harmful bill will place trans inmates at greater risk of harassment and assault and fails to address the real and continuing problems facing our state's criminal justice systems.

It is more important than ever that Minnesota continues to uphold the rights and protections our state has enacted for our LGBTQ+ communities. I encourage you and your colleagues to vote NO on HF 435 and other harmful legislation targeting trans Minnesotans.
