TELL SUPERMARKET CHAINS YOU DON'T SUPPORT ANIMAL ABUSE

She’s gasping for air. Her overgrown body is throbbing with pain. Each day of her life is filled with misery.

Will you speak up for her?

Broiler chicken on a factory farm

There's something disturbing hidden in plain sight at nearly every supermarket across the nation. At the center of it lies corporate greed. In a breaking investigation conducted by The Humane League and citizen investigators—we're exposing this ugly truth in a new tell-all report.

The evidence is damning. The findings show that top grocery retailers are selling chicken meat with white striping, a disease that is indicative of rapid growth and inherent cruelty. In other words: These retailers are profiting from undeniable, extreme suffering.

Each year, billions of fast-growth chickens are born on factory farms. They have been selectively bred to balloon to more than double their normal size. As a result, they face premature death, excruciating deformities, and diseases like white striping.

These chickens put on so much muscle tissue that it's almost impossible for their frail bones to hold their weight. Many birds collapse to the filthy, feces-soaked floor, causing a chain reaction of other painful conditions, such as broken legs and open sores on their belly. Each day as a fast-growth chicken is truly a living hell.

But we have a chance to save these sensitive and unique birds from the horrific abuses linked to rapid growth. Already, a few retailers have committed to improving their supply chain practices, such as Whole Foods, Thrive Market, and Giant Eagle. With these brands steering the industry in a better direction, we urgently need to convince more brands to get on board.

Join us in speaking up for chickens today. Tell these supermarket chains that you won't tolerate animal cruelty. Together, step by step, we can repair our broken food system.
