Share your support with the DNC Platform Committee

The DNC Platform Committee is meeting next week to debate and vote on the Democratic Party Platform for 2020. As proud pro-Israel Democrats, it is vital that our platform continues to stand with our democratic ally, Israel, as our party, and as Joe Biden, always have.

We are urging the Platform Committee to consider these key planks that ensure a platform that supports the longstanding partnership between the United States and Israel:

Continue supporting a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, negotiated by the parties.
Urge both parties to refrain from unilateral actions that could undermine a two-state solution.
Continue the U.S. security assistance promised to Israel in the Memorandum of Understanding negotiated and signed by the Obama-Biden administration.
Continue supporting Israel's right to self-defense and oppose delegitimization of Israel.
Work to ensure Iran does not obtain nuclear weapons through diplomatic means.

SUPPORT our platform continuing to stand with our democratic ally, Israel

Dear Members of the Platform Committee,

I’m writing you today as a proud pro-Israel Democrat, to ask you to ensure that our platform continues to stand with our democratic ally, Israel, as our party, and as Joe Biden, always have.

We should continue supporting a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, negotiated by the parties. We know Israel has offered Palestinians a state several times, but instead of saying “yes,” Palestinian leadership has responded with waves of terror attacks killing kids at discos, seniors at bus stops and families in pizza parlors.

We should urge both parties to refrain from unilateral actions that could undermine a two-state solution. That means Israel shouldn’t annex disputed West Bank territory. But it also means Palestinian leaders shouldn’t incite terrorism in their schools, pay special salaries to terrorists and their families, or take Israel to sham international courts.

Democrats should continue the U.S. security assistance promised to Israel in the Memorandum of Understanding negotiated and signed by the Obama-Biden administration, without additional conditions. While Trump may abandon allies, Democrats keep our word.

We should continue supporting Israel’s right to self-defense and oppose delegitimization of Israel through the BDS Movement, at the UN, and elsewhere. BDS leadership believes Israel has no right to exist in any borders. We should continue to be on the record opposing that view, as we have in the past.

And unlike Trump, a Democratic President should work to ensure Iran does not obtain nuclear weapons, first and foremost through diplomatic means.
