Protect PT (Penn-Trafford) is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to ensuring residents' safety, security, and quality of life by engaging in education and advocacy to protect the economic, environmental, and legal rights of the people in Westmoreland and Allegheny counties.

Protect PT's Noise Monitoring Program helps protect SW Pennsylvania residents from noise-related impacts associated with the construction, drilling, and completion phases of unconventional natural gas well pad development. The program achieves this goal by monitoring and tracking noise levels so program participants can use the data in efforts to address or mitigate excessive noise levels. Initially, the program will help residents establish baseline noise levels prior to development.
