Here at the Rural Utah Project, we believe deeply in dispelling the myth that rural Utah is a monolith. We are enamored by the many stories, passions, and projects of our rural neighbors. We want to lift up the narratives of rural Utahns.
We want to hear what you're working on, what you care about, and what keeps you up at night. We want to know what you love about Utah, why this state is so important to you, and what motivates you to make Utah the best it can be. We want to raise up the many facets of the rural experience.
This program isn't about politics, it's about passion. We welcome storytellers of any political party, faith, geography, and identity. We welcome ranchers, artists, business-owners, and ordinary folks with a story to tell. We hope that together, as residents of the diverse array of counties and towns in rural Utah, we can tell our stories first to ourselves then to each other, and ultimately to the world. We are hoping to share your stories through RUP's email, social media, or press. For stories used by this program or for time spent in follow up interviews, compensation will be offered.
If you have any questions about the program or want to recommend someone to tell their stories, please contact Communications Director, Alma Baste, at alma@ruralutah.org!
