Our freedoms, families, and futures are on the line. Right now, we are seeing MAGA Republicans attacking the promise of real equality and bolstering white supremacy all across the country. From ending affirmative action, to attacks on Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programs, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU's), and reparations initiatives, they are attempting to dismantle any program or policy that is aimed at rectifying the ongoing impacts of discrimination. In order to get free, our country must reckon with the ongoing legacy of white supremacy from its foundation.
 
Vice President Kamala Harris says “we're not going back!” Now it's time for Democratic Party leaders to show voters it's serious about standing up to MAGA attacks and standing for real equality by adopting Our Repair Mandate as part of its 2024 platform. Otherwise, we risk the MAGA faction taking us all the way back to the 1850's. We are the difference-makers and what happens next is up to us. Call the DNC and tell them to adopt Our Repair Mandate before the convention.

From ending affirmative action, to attacks on DEI, H.B.C.U.s and reparations initiatives, MAGA Republicans want to lock in inequality and ban any efforts to fix it.

This mandate lays out the steps the Democratic Party must take to halt this MAGA attack on equality and right the persistent wrongs of white supremacy in America.

Our Repair Mandate calls for:

• Restoring dignity, freedoms, and rights to those wronged under racial, gender, and economic hierarchies.
• Returning wealth, land, and resources owed to communities for exploitation, enslavement, and genocide.
• Healing communities from ongoing trauma caused by discriminatory laws and violence.
• Recognizing the full truth of our history and how it shapes the present.
• Removing barriers to equality and rewriting rules to prevent future wrongs.

It is crucial for the Democratic Party to show voters it's serious about standing up to MAGA's attacks and standing for real equality by adopting Our Repair Mandate as part of its 2024 platform. Failing to do so, however, would signal a lack of commitment to fighting for freedom and equality and risk alienating many of the people I care about, many of whom are the young voters that Vice President Kamala Harris and Democrats everywhere need to defeat MAGA Republicans and win this election. 

Repair is the antidote to white supremacy and this mandate is necessary for changing the course of 2024. Will DNC Chair Jaime Harrison follow our lead?
