While many communities are coming together to increase forest health and collaborate to reduce the impacts of climate change, the Medford District BLM remains outside of the mainstream in its pursuit of timber volume through mature and old-growth logging. We the undersigned are very concerned about the forthcoming “Last Chance” mature and old-growth timber sale north of Grants Pass, Oregon. Instead of proposing timber sales that will increase fire hazard and destroy our last remaining older forests, we encourage the BLM to truly work with communities and stakeholders to develop restoration projects.
Please protect and retain rather than degrade the mature and old-growth forests in the Last Chance project area.
