Comprehensive Cancer Survivorship Act

Help us make a difference by contacting your legislator today to become a co-sponsor for the Comprehensive Cancer Survivorship Act!

Thank you for supporting the Comprehensive Cancer Survivorship Act (CCSA)! This is an easy way to contact your congress members and ask them to support this bill by becoming a co-sponsr.

Just enter your name and address and the system will automatically identify your House and Senate representatives and send them the template email. You are able to edit the body section of the email and we encourage you to add in your personal experience in the first paragraph about how your cancer journey could have been better with a survivorship care plan and/or how this would help cancer patients in the future. Here are a few examples, but please add whatever your personal experience or thoughts are:

"Ringing the bell after completing cancer treatment was only the first step in my survivorship journey and without a survivorship care plan it was challenging to coordinate my care among multiple doctors. I was left feeling overwhelmed and disoriented. The CCSA would help ensure future cancer patients don't feel that or reduce their risk of falling through the gaps. Especially those of us that already face cancer disparities."

"I am grateful I had a survivorship care plan, but I have learned that not many cancer patients were as lucky as me. I can't imagine navigating my treatment and survivorship plan without these services. All cancer patients need to have these services to ensure equitable access to quality care."

"If this legislation had been in place during my cancer treatment, I would have benefited greatly from the employment assistance programs included in the bill. These services would have helped me remain employed and financially stable and avoided added unnecessary stress to an already difficult situation."

"As a cancer survivor, I understand the importance of long-term monitoring for potential late effects of treatment. The provision in this bill for an adult cancer survivorship study would have provided critical insights into managing these effects and improving overall quality of life for survivors like me. Supporting this study ensures that future survivors will have access to the knowledge and resources needed for optimal post-treatment care."

"As a caregiver, the inclusion of resources for survivorship education and awareness would have helped me better understand the long-term effects of cancer treatment and how to support my loved one through their recovery journey. By supporting this bill, we can ensure that caregivers like myself receive the support and resources needed to provide the best possible care for our loved ones throughout their cancer journey."
