The Learning and Accountability Project (LAP) is a collective of activists, advocates, and providers from diverse backgrounds prepared to make good trouble to advance reproductive rights, freedom, and justice. This project, convened by NIRH, is co-led by a growing group of organizations and individuals concerned with reproductive freedom policy trends that continue to re-enforce the Roe framework and perpetuate harm against BIPOC communities, young people, people with low-incomes, and other historically marginalized communities. Our current partners include:
Many of LAP's co-leaders are organizations with roots in the white feminist legal and policy frameworks that venerated Roe. These frameworks perpetuated a reproductive health landscape that harmed BIPOC communities and other marginalized groups. The LAP advisory committee commits to holding itself accountable to these impacted communities and that history. In doing so, we aim to join in the work to dismantle white supremacy within the policies we champion and the processes in which we engage.
We are building a blueprint for equity, justice, and liberation that disrupts the policies, practices, and systems that undermine true reproductive freedom.
Join the LAP listserv to receive invites to groundbreaking research, messaging and advocacy trainings and other resources designed to empower all of us to push back against status quo policies. We hope to see you soon in an upcoming learning series.
