Support the Environmental Justice For All Act!

On Monday, November 28th, the Representative Donald McEachin passed away. In honor of the legacy of Rep. McEachin as a member of Congress and ordained minister, we are asking Congress to prioritize the passing of the Environmental Justice for All Act (H.R. 2021) before the end of the year. This is a landmark bill that was led by Representatives McEachin and Grijalva. Join us in asking Congress to pass this landmark legislative priority, the Environmental Justice for All Act.

The Environmental Justice For All Act is a community-centered approach that is the "most comprehensive environmental justice bill in history." The Environmental Justice For All Act would establish various programs and requirements in order to combat disproportionate environmental effects of federal laws on BIPOC communities and/or low-income households. Some noteworthy provisions include:

  • Executive Order 12898--Directs federal agencies to develop environmental justice strategies and regularly report on implementation and progress. It also ensures that federal agencies include diverse communities in public health research, data collection, and analysis.
  • Outdoor Access for All--Supports more equitable access to parks and recreational opportunities.
  • Environmental Justice Grant Programs--Authorizes $75 million annually for grants to support projects to address environmental and public health issues in environmental justice communities.
  • Fair and Just Transition--Established a Federal Energy Transition Economic Development Assistance Fund using revenues from new fees on the oil, gas, and coal industries to support communities.

Join us in asking Congress to support the Environmental Justice For All Act! God's people and planet deserve safe environments that allow communities and ecosystems to thrive.
