Oppose Funding Cuts for Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare

On Monday, May 12, the MN House of Representatives will hold budget discussions which include $1 million in cuts to the Sexual and Reproductive Health Services (SRHS) grant included in  HF2435.  These grants fund organizations like Family Tree Clinic and Planned Parenthood MN.

The Director of Family Tree Clinic states; “the funding is critical to ensure our patients have access to family planning services like contraceptives counseling, screening and testing for sexually transmitted infections, and referrals for other medical or mental health care regardless of their insurance status…This funding directly supports affordable and comprehensive sexual health education and medical care for our communities. Without it thousands of Minnesotans will lose access to essential health care they cannot get elsewhere. This investment is critical.”

Contact your MN House Rep and tell them to oppose proposed funding cuts to Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare. Minnesota may be a state where abortion is a right by law, but without funding, the services will not be available. It only takes a few clicks!
