Tell Your Health Care Story!

Friend - Do you have a health care story to share with the Green Mountain Care Board?

More than 75,000 Vermonters will be impacted by the decisions made this summer by health care regulators. At upcoming rate hearings this month, the state's two largest private health insurers will be seeking rate increases of nearly 10 to 15 percent. (Read the details from the Office of the Vermont Health Care Advocate)

To make the change we want in the world, telling your story can help to make that change happen. We here at Rights & Democracy want to help and support you in telling your health care story to those in power.

Rights & Democracy is working to help folks testify at the Green Mountain Care Board's special public hearing on Tuesday, July 23rd from 4:30-6:30PM in Montpelier City Hall.

Share your story in confidence in the form below and someone from our team will follow up with you about what next steps we can take together in response to Blue Cross and MVP's proposed, unsustainable rate increases.

Here's the kind of stories that will be helpful in this rate review process:

  • Does your insurance plan leave you with paying too much out-of-pocket through copays and deductibles?
  • Are your monthly insurance premiums too difficult to afford?
  • If you receive health care coverage through Medicaid, have you ever refused to take a new job because the pay increase wasn't enough to cover deductibles, copays, or premiums?
  • We know all too well that today's health care system needs more than minor fixes and to make the change we want to see, we need regulators and insurance executives to hear the stories of everyday Vermonters who suffer as a result of today's system.
  • Be sure to let us know if you have coverage through Blue Cross or MVP and if you receive this coverage through your employer or through the individual market.
