Part-time: The collective bargaining agreement between Howard University and SEIU Local 500 provides that all faculty members who become employed by the University and covered by this Agreement must either voluntarily become members in the Union, or shall be required as a condition of continued employment to pay to the Union each month a service charge as a contribution toward the cost of administration of this Agreement and representation by the Union, beginning on or after the thirtieth (30) calendar day following the beginning of such employment.
Full-time: Authorization for the deductions will not go into effect until the collective bargaining for Howard full-time faculty has been ratified by the bargaining unit members.
