Negotiations between Alameda County and SEIU 2015 are wrapping up this week and the Alameda County Board of Supervisors need to hear from consumers and allies that raising IHSS wages is not just a worker issue, it is a community issue. It is a senior and disability rights issue.
SEIU 2015 is in negotiations with the Alameda County Board of Supervisors and community pressure will help a lot in moving them to support the demand of $20/hour. (Currently the wage in Alameda is only $16.75, far below a living wage and less that someone can make working retail.)
Make a call or send an email right now to your Supervisor (and then call or email at least 2 others) and then let us know you did!
