On January 28th, resolutions to remove the deadline on the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment were introduced as HJ Res 25 in the House and SJ Res 4 in the Senate, by Representative Pressley and Senator Cardin, respectively.
With the ERA fulfilling all requirements to become an amendment outlined in Article V of the Constitution in 2020, including passage by 2/3 of Congress and ratification by 38 states, the 1982 deadline set by Congress is the only thing standing in the way of enshrining gender equality into our Constitution.
We need to pile on the pressure NOW. Take 5 seconds to fill out this form to pressure your Senators to fight for marginalized genders and move of one step closer to Constitutionalized gender equality.
