Every voter who wants to cast their ballot, should be able to do so. That means our community members need to feel safe enough to make their voices heard at the polls. So join the Election Protection AZ team as a Poll Monitor or Poll Defender, and play an integral part in holding your community in strength and compassion this General Election.
Poll Monitors: Be the eyes and ears on the ground at voting sites across Arizona to sound the alarm when there are issues, and to help voters on the spot! This is a volunteer opportunity and the training is online for 2 hours, where you'll learn the basics of election law and the most common barriers voters run into. Please RSVP for one of the trainings below that works with your schedule. **The "Returning" training is only for Poll Monitors who were trained for the Primary Election this year already.**
Poll Defenders: No one should face intimidation or violence while exercising their right to vote, even from law enforcement. Help us defend the polls and de-escalate violence by becoming a Poll Defender. This is an hourly paid position ($20/hr) for the training and shifts during the voting period. Please RSVP for one of the in-person trainings below that is 4 hours long to learn critical skills in keeping our communities and our voting rights safe.
