CLERGY RESOURCE

Fall greetings! We hope the summer provided some rest and relaxation in preparation for the coming months. As you begin your fall planning, we wanted to provide you with helpful resources related to Advent, the canonization of Oscar Romero, and Share the Journey.

Ministry Resources

  • Consider hosting a pilgrimage this fall in support of refugees and migrants. Visit sharejourney.org for helpful resources.
  • Celebrate the canonization of Oscar Romero this month with these helpful resources.
  • Invite your parish community to prepare their hearts to welcome Emmanuel using these Advent reflections, activities and prayers.
  • Consider inviting a CRS Global Fellow to your parish to share the great work the church is doing to help our brothers and sisters overseas. There is no second collection and no cost to you or the diocese.

CRS on the Ground

Typhoon Mangkhut made landfall on the coast of the northern Philippines, displacing over 200,000 people and destroying homes and crops.  And in the aftermath of the storm, a landslide buried a bunkhouse where miners and their families sought shelter.

Catholic Relief Services is on the ground, providing lifesaving assistance for families, distributing food and shelter, water and hygiene kits.

For more information on how your parish can help and learn how the church is helping visit the CRS website.

TAKE ACTION

PILGRIMAGE: PRAY AND WALK AS ONE HUMAN FAMILY. CRS is continuing our work with the ‘Share the Journey’ campaign highlighting the journey of refugees and migrants around the world. This fall, get involved by planning a solidarity pilgrimage and walk as one human family. The goal is to reach a collective 124,500 miles walked or 5 laps around the world. Get involved by visiting the ‘Share the Journey’ where you’ll find resources to help you plan, organize and register a solidarity walk. And don’t forget #sharethejourney.
