Invest in People, Not Billionaires.

The House Republicans passed their so-called “One Big, Beautiful Bill Act,” H.R. 1, by the narrowest margin (215-214). But this fight isn't over -- the Senate still has to weigh in!

There’s a reason House Republicans had to move quickly, often in the dead of night: the bill is trash. It would strip at least 15 million people of healthcare, hurting Black and Brown, poor and working class communities the most. It includes the largest Medicaid cuts in U.S. history and would cut $300 billion from SNAP. Vicious anti-trans and anti-abortion attacks are woven into the bill and it would hand the fascist Trump regime billions to fund his anti-immigrant detention, deportation and disappearance machine.

Medicaid is the largest source of insurance coverage for people with HIV in the US, covering an estimated 40% of the adults with HIV. It's crucial to our communities' survival, covering HIV screening, prevention, treatment, and so much more. We cannot keep allowing the passage of unfair tax policies that disproportionately benefit the wealthy while making poor and working class communities suffer -- including by taking health care and food away from millions.

Call TODAY. Call TOMORROW. Call UNTIL THEY HEAR US. We won't let Congress steal from poor and working class families to give billionaires and corporations tax cuts.

STEP ONE. Scroll to the bottom of this page. Enter your address to find your Senators' & House Rep's phone numbers.

STEP TWO. Call your Senators. Here's a script you can use:

Hi, my name is [NAME]. I’m a constituent of Senator [NAME] and I care deeply about the rights, health and dignity of people living with HIV.

I'm calling to urge Senator [NAME] to vote NO on the reconciliation bill,  HR1.

[SAY WHY THIS MATTERS TO YOU, E.G.] Many of my neighbors, myself included, are outraged that millions of people will lose health care and go hungry to give billionaires more tax cuts. The cuts to Medicaid will increase strain on our state budget, drive more people into medical debt, and deepen existing healthcare coverage inequities. Medicaid is a crucial program that serves 40% of people living with HIV, covering HIV screening, prevention, and treatment.  Voting for this bill would betray the poor and working class people in your state.

Please tell Senator [NAME] to stand up for their constituents and vote NO on the reconciliation bill,  HR1.

STEP THREE. Check how your House Representative voted, HERE. Call your Rep and tell them how you feel!!

If your Rep voted 🎉 NO 🎉:

Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent of Representative [NAME]. I'm calling to thank Representative [NAME] for voting against the reconciliation bill!

[OPTIONAL]: This is important to me because...[ADD WHY MEDICIAD AND SNAP MATTER TO YOU]:

I'm so grateful for Representative [NAME]’s leadership on this.

If your Rep voted YES 😡:

Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent of Representative [NAME]. I'm calling to express my outrage that Representative [NAME] voted for the reconciliation bill! By voting YES, Representative [NAME] put the interests of billionaires and corporations over their poor and working class constituents. This is unacceptable.

[OPTIONAL]: This is important to me because...[ADD WHY MEDICIAD AND SNAP MATTER TO YOU]:

The bill will come back to the House. Tell Representative [NAME] to stand up for their constituents and vote NO next time.
