Metro FIMN State of the Legislative Session Meeting Leader Meeting April 22, 2021 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM CT Once again we are outraged at the senseless police killing of a black man. We mourn the death of Daunte Wright and redouble our resolve to press for change. Right now at the legislature, MN house DFL’ers are advancing a number of police reform bills. The MN Senate Republican leadership has stonewalled and resisted change, choosing to protect millionaires from tax increases for needed public investments, and shielding police from even a modicum of accountability or oversight. We are holding a state of the legislative session meeting to process the moment we are in and help you all connect the dots between the murder of Daunte Wright, this legislative session, how we need to raise revenue because resourced communities are safe communities AND the 2022 elections where the House, Senate and Governor are up.
