Tell Congress to Protect Roe v. Wade

Today marks the 47th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, a landmark decision by the Supreme Court that legalized abortion in the United States. As we enter the 47th year since the legalization of abortion, we must acknowledge both progress and struggle. Although abortion is legal throughout the United States it is clear that care is still not easily accessible to all who need it, leaving far too many out of the axis of care. This doesn't come as a surprise to those who have followed the decades of coordinated efforts, at the state and federal level, to erode the reach of Roe v. Wade in the United States and its territories.
Watch our Fellows talk about what they wish people knew about abortion on the Roe Anniversary:
This year a Supreme Court will revisit the issue of abortion, hearing June Medical Services v Gee this coming March (see the Physicians Amicus Brief here). This case challenges a Louisiana law requiring abortion providers to have medically unnecessary admitting privileges at a local hospital. This law is identical to a Texas law that was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court in 2016.
On this crucial anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we are asking you to call your Senators and Representatives to oppose restrictions on abortion, and to support bills that protect and expand abortion access like the Women's Health Protection Act (S 1645 / HR 2975) and the Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance Act (EACH Woman Act, S 758 / HR 1692).
Please use the above links to see whether your Representative and or Senator is already supporting, or a cosponsor of, these initiatives to thank them for their continued support. Key: S - Senate, HR - House of Representatives.

I am a physician/constituent from [your state] and an advocate/supporter with Physicians for Reproductive Health. I am calling on the 47th anniversary of Roe v Wade to urge Senator/Representative __________ to oppose harmful restrictions to abortion care and access by supporting bills that protect and expand care like the Women's Health Protection Act and the Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance Act (Each Woman Act).
[As a physician I know that] abortion is safe, abortion is normal, and that abortion is health care. Everyone deserves access to abortion care no matter where they live or what their income is. As a physician [supporter of reproductive health care], I am alarmed by the bans on abortion passed in several states last year, and by the Supreme Court's decision to hear June Medical Services v. Gee.
Please ask Senator/Representative ______ to support bills like the Women's Health Protection Act and the EACH Woman Act and to protect access to abortion. [If your senator has cosponsored the EACH Woman Act and or the Women's Health Protection Act, you can also thank the office for their support of this legislation.]
