I am good with a little rain, but the “atmospheric river” that drenched Rancho Coastal Humane Society (RCHS) last Monday was nothing to sing about!  The rain fell sideways so our new roof at the Learning Center did little to keep water from pooling on the floor of the Multi-Purpose Classrooms.

The K-9 Training office fared much better because it was already wrapped with a funky purple waterproofing material, and the Food Bank’s large garage door openings were opposite the wind coming off the ocean.   

That rain wasn't enough to stop RCHS! Click here for the happy ending on a day it was raining cats and dogs!

The landscape of the RCHS continues to change! Last month, some special guests stopped by for a beam signing ceremony inside our new learning center! (See photos below)

Plus Jeff Zevely from CBS 8 San Diego visited to get an inside look at the project and share it with the people of San Diego County. You can watch his Zevely Zone story here.

The cutest tradition in sports continues as RCHS takes over the CBS 8 studios for the annual Puppy Bowl! This year, four puppies from RCHS will take on four from our friends at ARFF San Diego!

Be sure to watch the fur fly on Friday, February 9th! We'll be on CBS 8 around 6:45 a.m. and then on The CW San Diego between 7 and 9!

Tidbit was tiny when he was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society last July through FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters). At just four months old, this American-mixed rabbit only weighed about three pounds! 

We knew from the start that he would need time and space to warm up to each new situation. His initial behavior evaluation reads: “Tidbit will benefit from slow interaction and socialization to get him more comfortable with people.”  

But what Tidbit did just days after getting home made everyone smile! Keep reading here to find out what happened!

 The Rancho Coastal Humane Society Thrift Shop is your solution to clearing out all of that clutter! Donations of new or gently used merchandise are accepted at the shop during regular business hours. We especially appreciate donations of clothing, tools, and jewelry!

Plus, we can pick up some items like small furniture! You can contact our friendly driver, Joe, at 760-519-4582 to set something up.

The RCHS Thrift Shop in Cardiff is open daily from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., or you can shop 24/7 at the online store.
