We Cry Justice: On Repentance and Repair: Making Amends in an Unapologetic World Community Event May 2, 2024 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM CT Virtual We Cry Justice provides space for us to engage in reflection together about how social justice issues connect to our individual and collective values and spirituality. This is a multifaith reflection group. During April, May, and June, we will engage with the Beacon Press book and UUA 2023-2024 Common Read, Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg's On Repentance and Repair: Making Amends in an Unapologetic World. (Rather than the 4th Thursday in April, we are meeting on May 2 due to Passover.) All are welcome - you do not need to be UU or Texan to participate!

This week, a special guest from Mano Amiga will share about DeVonte Anderson's case in Hays County. DeVonte has a trial set in June, even though at the trial of his co-defendant, Cyrus Gray, it became clear that "Hays County had poor evidence against [Gray], especially considering the gravity of the charges – no eyewitnesses, video, fingerprints, or DNA connected Gray or Amerson to the murder."
