Final Friday Bonus Action Hour - Democracy Edition- TEXTING! Community Event October 25, 2024 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM CT Virtual Texas Unitarian Universalist Justice Ministry (TXUUJM) is offering non-partisan phone banking / Get out the Vote (GOTV) opportunities through the November 5th election. We're better together as we contact underrepresented voters! Today we will be texting with Voteriders! Over 34.5 Million US voters don't have a current drivers license. We'll check in with Texas voters to be sure they have an acceptable form of ID to vote, and to connect them with Voteriders to help them get it! We start with some spiritual grounding, then we will provide training/orientation so there is NO experience necessary. Just a desire to work for a multi-racial democracy where we can ALL thrive. Houston: Blockwalk for Public Ed- Vote No HISD Bonds Community Event October 26, 2024 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM CT CVPE Blockwalk Meeting Place - Energy Corridor, 14118 Cherry Mound Rd, Houston, TX 77077 Blockwalk with CVPE on Saturday! Meet us at 10 am. No experience is required. Bring your walking shoes and a fully charged phone. Help spread awareness of what is happening to our schools because of the takeover and about the proposed bond this November. [Proposition A & B] This takeover is making things worse! We want fully funded and well-resourced schools with a rich academic and arts curriculum in which teachers and students learn in welcoming spaces. This state takeover is not doing any of that! We Cry Justice Community Event October 30, 2024 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM CT Virtual We Cry Justice provides space for us to engage in reflection together about how social justice issues connect to our individual and collective values and spirituality. You don't need to be UU or from Texas. There is NO experience necessary. Just a desire to work for a multi-racial democracy where we can ALL thrive. Please join us! Costumes welcomed, but optional!
