Tell Congress to Support the Women's Health Protection Act

Enter your home zip code below to find and contact your elected officials.

ABOUT:

It is critical for Congress to pass the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA). WHPA would create much-needed federal protections against state-level restrictions on abortion. This year, WHPA has the support of over 200 co-sponsors in the U.S. House of Representatives. Too many people face unjustified obstacles to abortion care. These restrictions fall most heavily on Black communities and other communities of color experiencing disparities in health care directly related to the COVID-19 pandemic, systemic racism, and white supremacy in our education, health care, police, housing, and justice systems. Regardless of the decision in June Medical Services, Congress needs to pass WHPA now.

PHONE CALL SCRIPT:

I am a physician/constituent from [your state] and an advocate/supporter with Physicians for Reproductive Health. I am calling to urge Senator/Representative _____________ to support advancement of the Women's Health Protection Act.

Abortion is health care that everyone deserves access to, no matter where they live or what their income is. As a physician [supporter of reproductive health care], I am alarmed by the bans on abortion passed last year in Alabama and Georgia and most recently in Tennessee. They show that federal protection of abortion is critical to protecting the health and rights of pregnant people in the United States. Access to abortion care should not depend on your zip code.

Please ask _________ to support advancement the Women's Health Protection Act and work to protect access to abortion. [If your Representative has cosponsored WHPA, you can also thank the office for their support of this legislation.]
