We’ve made progress on issues that are important to Nurses, but there’s still work left to be done.
You can still fill out a bargaining survey to let your bargaining team know what matters to you.
Fill out a survey, and talk to Bargaining Representative Joshua Alvarenga (ICU) about what you want to see in the new contract or any questions you may have.
Some of what we've agreed on so far:
Patient Care - Renewed commitment to start committees that give Nurses a voice for safe staffing. Preserved floating protections that Nurses won in the first contract.
Holidays - Updated the holiday rotation to ensure no Nurse has to work two holidays in a row within a short span of time.
Seniority - AHMC employees laid off from other facilities cannot bump MPH employees.
Job Postings - HR will begin posting vacancies online.
Progressive Discipline - Disciplinary investigations must be completed within 30 days to prevent prolonged “fishing expeditions.” Verbal & written warnings must be removed from employee’s file after 12 months.

Monterey Park, Garfield and Greater El Monte RNs - Unite!
Monterey Park RNs are in good company! Garfield Medical Center and Greater El Monte Community Hospital Nurses are also in bargaining right now with AHMC, working hard to fix some of the same issues with the same employer.

The AHMC bargaining teams: Ernesto Fajardo, Christine Smith, and Maria Elena Diaz, Garfield Medical Center; Samantha Alegria, Greater El Monte; Joshua Alvarenga, Monterey Park Hospital.
