We're so excited to work with you to end the incarceration of women and girls and #FreeHer! We have in-person events planned in every New England state, virtual events, and campaign work that we can get you involved with. Check back here regularly as we add more events. Join us on the streets outside their offices in downtown Boston to let the community know about their complicity in the harm of incarceration. Week of Abolition: Essex Honk & Wave! VT Canvass October 23, 2024 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM ET Essex Five Corners, Vermont Rte 117, Essex Junction, VT 05452 Please join organizers for our Essex honk+wave. We will be flyering and holding signs at Essex Five Corners to spread awareness about the DOC's plans to build a new prison in their town and garner support for our campaign. Week of Abolition: Essex Planning Commission Meeting VT Community Event October 24, 2024 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM ET Essex High School, 2 Educational Dr, Essex Junction, VT 05452 Please join us at the Essex Planning Commission meeting to engage with Essex residents about the DOC's plans to build new prisons. We will be observing the meeting and flyering the crowd.

Week of Abolition: Joy Not Jails- Art for Abolition with the Education Justice Coalition VT Community Event October 25, 2024 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM ET Barre Labor Hall, 46 Granite St Barre, Barre, VT 05641 Come join the Education Justice Coalition for a special event for Free Her’s week of abolition. At this event we'll be exploring how the arts can move us towards liberation. We will be centering the art, voices, and stories of incarcerated folks. Free Her will be sharing about their campaign to stop the building of a new Women’s Prison. Come and make art together including collage making, banner painting, song writing, poetry, and more. This is a family friendly event as many activities will be appropriate for upper elementary aged youth and beyond. The space is wheelchair accessible.
