Phonebank for Immigrant Justice with Georgia Latino Alliance for Human Rights

In our Georgia Power Hour gathering, we’ll be introduced to GLAHR and their work building a base of Georgia voters to mobilize against the 287(g) program. This program uses local law enforcement to act as ICE agents and targets our immigrant community.
Join us for a phone bank training to call Cobb County voters. There is an upcoming sheriff’s race in Cobb County and we want folks to vote love in this critical election. For this training you’ll need a computer with Chrome or FireFox and a phone. Download the Chrome or Firefox browsers using these links.
Defeat Hate with Georgia Equality
I am happy to announce that UU the Vote Georgia will be partnering with Georgia Equality on a variety of issues that are important to mobilize voters and create positive change in Georgia. Georgia Equality would like us to text and phone our Georgia neighbors to push for a Medicaid expansion under COVID-19, a state-wide hate crime bill, and get folks critical voting information during the election.

No need to have every congregation seek a micro grant. The UU the Vote Georgia collective is approved to submit one plan to fund our work during the 2020 elections. I have created a planning document to help us frame the work. Please include your ideas by June 3rd. The congregational captions on our teams will finalize the plans and submit the proposal.
