Join us for a fun Farm Dinner with Hofherr Meat Co. on July 27th from 5-9p at the Howard Street Farm! Chef Sean Hofherr and his team will prepare a locally-focused, four-course, sit-down fundraiser dinner featuring produce grown by The Talking Farm steps from your table! Your ticket will include a welcome cocktail or champagne and passed appetizers while you explore The Talking Farm's 2.5-acre urban farm in Skokie. Then, you will sit down to a 4-course meal (including dessert), served family-style, and enjoy post-dinner s'mores, spirits, and cordials by bonfires.

Your ticket includes a tax-deductible donation to The Talking Farm, supporting our urban agriculture educational programs and 2.5-acre urban farm.

$175/person inclusive of dinner, all beverages, tax, gratuity, and a tax-deductible donation. Beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options included. Members receive a 10% discount (please check your email for a special link to buy discounted tickets). Please note: only vegetarians may be accommodated - no other dietary restrictions can be accommodated. FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

There are no minimum age requirements, but you have to be 21 or over to consume alcohol. We will not be offering a children's menu or food options, and small children need to be supervised by their parents at all times as this is a working farm.

Will there be non-alcoholic beverage options?

Yes. We will have sparkling water, a non-alcoholic cocktail, and 1-2 other types of soft drinks. 

Are vegetarians going to be accommodated?

Of course! We will offer a vegetarian option for each meat or fish course. Many times the vegetarian dishes are also vegan. Please refer to the menu for more details or if you would like to inquire about vegan options, please contact info@thetalkingfarm.org.

Are other dietary restrictions going to be accommodated?

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate other dietary restrictions. 

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is parking adjacent to the Farm in the lot for the Tot Learning Center.

What is the dress code for the event? 

There is no dress code - dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable shoes appropriate for walking around a farm with gravel and wood chips. You might want to consider bringing a light sweater or jacket in case it cools off at night.

Is my ticket tax-deductible?

The value of goods and services for your ticket is $80.00, so the remaining amount of the paid farm dinner ticket is tax-deductible to the extent allowed under the law. Proceeds benefit The Talking Farm, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit.

Should I bring my ticket to the event?

No, we can verify your ticket online.

Are the dinners rain or shine?

Yes - if it rains, we will convene under tents. If the dinner needs to be canceled due to dangerous weather conditions, we will contact you to either transfer tickets to a later farm dinner or to refund your tickets.

What's the refund policy?

Tickets are non-refundable once purchased but may be transferred if you email info@thetalkingfarm.org with the names of the people attending your place within 24 hours of the event.

Is seating assigned?

Yes. We assign seating to ensure that everyone in a ticketed party is seated together and to eliminate the need for "saving seats," which results in some parties being split up. We would like you to relax and enjoy the event and not worry about getting a seat.

How are people seated during dinner?

You will automatically be assigned seating with the people in your ticketed party. If you would like to be seated with other ticketed parties, we can accommodate seating up to 8 people together. We will contact you before the event to ask if you'd like to be seated with any other ticketed parties.
