We are calling on Senator Cantwell to support the reintroduced Break Free from Plastic Pollution Act. This act includes the most comprehensive set of policy solutions around plastic pollution ever introduced in Congress. Several states already passed laws to reduce plastic pollution and ban single-use plastic bags. We can do the same nationwide.

The Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act will:

Ban non-recyclable single use plastic products.

Establish a moratorium on the approval of new and expanded plastic manufacturing facilities.

Prohibit the discharge of plastic pellets into waterways.

Start a national beverage container refund program.
