Get involved - Solidarity Budget

With every city budget, Seattle has a choice to make: will we continue to invest in harms like policing, at the expense of climate justice, affordable housing, true public safety, good jobs, and healthy neighborhoods? Or will we change course, and prioritize community-led solutions for a Seattle where everyone can thrive?

Our struggles to build a more equitable Seattle are interconnected. The places in our city where pollution is concentrated and inequality cuts most deeply are also the places most heavily policed. At the core of the Solidarity Budget is our refusal to allow our movements to be pitted against each other for funding. Divesting from police and investing in Black communities goes hand in hand with climate justice and housing justice, workers' rights, and Indigenous sovereignty.

Solidarity Budget coalition will be back for the 2023 City Budget (which is developed in fall 2022). We'll again be building Green New Deal power for climate and racial justice priorities.

Sign up here to get involved! We'll reach back out in early 2022 to invite you to community events, trainings and more great ways to plug in.
