Get Involved to Protect the Custer Gallatin National Forest
Do you love to get outside on the Custer Gallatin National Forest? The Custer Gallatin is home to some of our favorite places to recreate, including the Bridgers, Hyalite Canyon, the Gallatin Range, and the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness.

Right now there's an unusual opportunity to get involved with the future of these special places. The Custer Gallatin National Forest is undergoing Forest Planning – basically, a plan for how to take care of the forest for the next 20-30 years. The Forest Service just released a Proposed Action, which is their initial proposal for what the revised forest plan might look like. Based on the comments they receive, the Forest Service will develop a range of Alternatives – drafts of plans for how to manage the Custer Gallatin.

Your comments now have a big impact on the future of the Custer Gallatin National Forest. The Forest Service is accepting public comments until March 5. We've included a sample comment below, but it's even more meaningful if you can personalize your comment, especially with information about where you recreate on the forest.
