Thursday Night Action Hour - Democracy Edition! Community Event September 19, 2024 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM CT Virtual Texas Unitarian Universalist Justice Ministry (TXUUJM) is offering non-partisan phone banking / Get out the Vote (GOTV) opportunities through the November 5th election. We're better together as we contact underrepresented voters in Bexar County, Texas! Today we will be texting with Voteriders! Over 34.5 Million US voters don't have a current drivers license. We'll check in with Texas voters to be sure they have an acceptable form of ID to vote, and to connect them with Voteriders to help them get it! We start with some spiritual grounding, then we will provide training/orientation so there is NO experience necessary. Just a desire to work for a multi-racial democracy where we can ALL thrive. We Cry Justice Community Event September 26, 2024 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM CT Virtual We Cry Justice provides space for us to engage in reflection together about how social justice issues connect to our individual and collective values and spirituality. This is a multifaith reflection group. During September, October, and November, we will engage with the Beacon Press book and 2021-22 UUA Common Read, Zach Norris' Defund Fear. (Note, we'll as a group determine new dates for October & November due to Jewish High Holy Days & Thanksgiving.) All are welcome: you don't need to be UU or from Texas!

Texting with Keshet! Community Event September 30, 2024 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM CT Virtual Get out the vote for LGBTQ+ equality! Join Keshet and community partners to get out the equality vote for the general election. We will be using ScaleToWin's text banking software to reach voters with important information they will need to cast their ballots. A brief grounding and training will be followed by text banking with ongoing support from Keshet staff. We recommend using a computer with a steady internet connection for the best experience. UU the Vote 2024 DFW Activation - Dallas! Community Event October 5, 2024 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM CT Hold this day so that we may take action in key districts talking to voters in Fort Worth. We plan to support a special partner social and networking event this evening in the Dallas Design District. Rosé v Wade is a community engagement event hosted by Avow Texas. The goal is to bring people together, celebrate, and support the important work going on in North Texas. Join us for wine, beer, pizza and community! Want free Rosé? We will be accepting donations for the Repro Power Coalition and La Canistita. We are collecting menstrual products, diapers, and cases of water. All donations must be new and unopened.
