Mental Health

Every day thousands of Coloradans face the reality of living with a mental illness. Yet the truth is we fall behind most states when it comes to providing quality mental health care. Overall, Colorado ranks 46th in mental health outcomes. Only four states rank worse.

Since our founding, Healthier Colorado has been focused on improving our existing behavioral health systems and creating environments that support mental wellbeing. We have passed legislation strengthening the statewide crisis response system, expanding access and coverage for mental health services, and that address the fragmentation and duplication in our behavioral health care system. At the local level, we supported the “Caring for Denver” ballot measure, which was approved by Denver voters and now produces at least $35 million for programs ranging from suicide prevention to alternatives to jail for those with mental health disorders.

We are proud of the wins we have achieved so far, but we still have a lot more work to do. It will take a sustained effort to ensure our mental health system is accessible, equitable, and makes a meaningful difference in people's lives. With your support we can build on our progress.

Coloradans are in pain. Let's take action to heal it. Sign our petition, and together, we can ensure every Coloradan has access to the mental health services they need.
