Urge the Senate: Support D.C. Statehood

Nearly 700,000 residents of the District of Columbia are denied equal representation in our government and are taxed without representation. D.C. residents pay federal taxes and the population of D.C. is greater than Vermont and Wyoming. D.C. should be a state, yet some Republicans are blocking statehood legislation in the Senate.

Statehood for D.C. is a civil rights and racial justice issue. Half of D.C.'s residents are Americans of color and all of D.C.'s residents deserve representation in our government, the same as citizens of the other 50 states. Republicans in Congress are abusing the filibuster and are actively standing in the way of the most basic democratic rights for D.C. residents.

The House passed the Washington, D.C. Admission Act (H.R. 51) in 2021, and Senate Republicans have refused to act. Join Jewish Dems by adding your name to support statehood for Washington D.C. and to reject Republican attacks on Americans' voting and other civil rights.
