Cotoni-Coast Dairies National Monument

We can't be more excited to begin work at Cotoni-Coast Dairies (CCD) and hope you will join us during the week for some volunteer opportunities! With your help, we will build 19 miles of new trails in the northern part of this land. Cotoni-Coast Dairies is one of six onshore units of the California Coastal National Monument, and we couldn't be more proud and thrilled to be a part of creating public access to this land. This is a drop-in event, meaning you may leave whenever you want, however, it is a good idea to plan to get to the meeting location by 7:45 a.m. you must arrive by 8:00 a.m. sharp because there is a gate that must be closed after entering CCD. If you would like to leave earlier, please plan to hike or bike out of the worksite to your vehicle.

About Us

  • We believe that trails are a gateway to the adventure, healing, exercise, and meditation offered by the great outdoors. Our work expands and enhances sustainable trail networks so everyone has a place in enjoying and protecting the Santa Cruz Mountains.

  • All contributions to Santa Cruz Mountains Trail Stewardship are tax-deductible as allowable by law under IRS Code Section 501(c)(3). Our tax ID is 77-0457425.

  • Land acknowledgment created by the Amah Mutsun Land Trust: The land on which we gather is the unceded territory of the Awaswas-speaking Cotoni Tribe. The Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, comprised of the descendants of indigenous people taken to missions Santa Cruz and San Juan Bautista during Spanish colonization of the Central Coast, is today working hard to restore traditional stewardship practices on these lands and heal from historical trauma.
