The deadline for Congress to finalize a government spending bill is December 7 – and handful of pro-slaughter legislators hope to use this lame duck session (before power shifts in the House) to ram through anti-horse provisions – over the objections of the vast majority of Americans. We can't let that happen, so we ask everyone to weigh in with Congress now.
Earlier this year, the House and Senate each passed Agriculture and Interior Appropriations bills for Fiscal Year 2019, which began on October 1, 2018. The Senate legislation maintained protections for horses against slaughter while the House version not only would allow horse slaughter to resume in the U.S., but also would authorize the BLM to implement a mass surgical sterilization program for wild horses and lay the groundwork for the cruel killing of tens of thousands of healthy wild horses and burros over the age of ten.
Because the House and Senate could not agree on a final spending bill before the election, they passed a Continuing Resolution to fund the government through December 7 at FY 2018 levels. Now the House and Senate must act again before the Continuing Resolution expires, or they will face a government shutdown. Negotiations are ongoing so now is the time to act!

Tell them you want Congress to maintain protections for America's domestic and wild horses from slaughter and to protect wild horses from risky and invasive surgical sterilization surgeries that will take the wild out of wild horses by destroying their natural behaviors.
