MDOT/SHA, MCDOT, and WMATA are working in partnership to launch tactical (a.k.a. pilot) dedicated bus lanes on Georgia Ave. in Downtown Silver Spring. The dedicated bus lanes would run from Wayne Ave. to 16th St. (Learn more here!)

Dedicated bus lanes would make taking the bus faster and safer along this essential corridor. This collaborative project is an excellent opportunity to not only meaningfully improve bus service through downtown Silver Spring, but to demonstrate the potential of dedicated bus lanes and encourage wider use throughout the county. 

To move forward, state and county officials must reach an agreement about who will pay for construction and maintenance of the bus lanes. 

Write to public officials today to encourage them to: 
1) support the Georgia Ave tactical bus lanes, and 
2) work towards a timely funding agreement for maintenance and construction to move this important project forward on schedule!
