CCSD: End the Use of Pepper Spray

Dear Superintendent Dr. Jesus Jara and CCSD Board of Trustees:

We demand that you create police free schools here in CCSD. To do this, we have developed a Youth Mandate outlining the necessary actions to begin that process. As an immediate first step, we demand that you immediately and permanently end the use of pepper spray in our schools - an act that would be considered a war crime in other circumstances.

Read more about young people's experiences and demands here: www.youthmandate.com/arrested-learning

The young people who are the most at risk of harm due to harsh policing policies are uniquely situated to re-imagine school environments. We have a vision for safe, supportive, and inclusive schools.
